3 attacked at milk chilling centre in Namakkal
As Chakravarthy resisted, the miscreants attacked all the three with sickles and inflicted bleeding cut injuries on them.
NAMAKKAL: In a daring attack by a gang of four at a milk chilling centre at Kumbakottai near Namagiripettai in Namakkal district late on Saturday night, three persons including an employee of the chilling centre suffered severe cut injuries. In the melee, one of the assailants also suffered a cut injury, police said.
Chakravarthy, 28, employed at the milk chilling centre in the village was at his work when two of his friends, Ganesan and Manikandan dropped in to have a chat, police said on Sunday.
Even as they were conversing, a group of four miscreants who came in two motorcycles, suddenly barged into the centre, caught hold of Chakravarthy and demanded the cash in his possession. As Chakravarthy resisted, the miscreants attacked all the three with sickles and inflicted bleeding cut injuries on them. In the process, one of the miscreants also suffered a cut, police said.
While two of the miscreants snatched Rs 3,300 in Chakravarthy's possession and two mobile phones and fled the scene, another miscreant was caught by the villagers. All the four injured were rushed to Rasipuram government hospital and one of the miscreants critically injured was further referred to Salem GH. Further probe is on.
