Bengaluru: Cops foil robbery bid, arrest one

Bengaluru: A 32-year-old robber was arrested by the Viveknagar police while his gang members managed to escape on Sunday night on the Intermediate Ring Road near Ejipura.
The gang was preparing for a robbery with lethal weapons when a police team intercepted them. When they saw the police, they jumped inside an Innova car (KA-03-D-1282) to escape. However, one of them slipped and fell on the ground and was arrested while others managed to escape.
The police arrested Afroz Pasha alias Katmat, a resident of Ilyas Nagar, and seized a pistol and live bullets from him. The nine-member gang was waiting for their targets near air-view point on the Intermediate Ring Road around 10.15 pm.

The police arrested him, and during interrogation, he confessed that they were planning to commit a robbery and were waiting for their target. Based on Afroz’s statement, the police have launched a manhunt to nab Asif alias Shaitan Asif, Mohammed Akbar, Mohammed Asgar, Mohammed Qadeer alias TB Patient, Afroz, Aijaz alias Operation Aijaz, Afsar alias SP and Asgar Khan alias Ajju.
