Two sentenced to death in Mandsaur gangrape case

The girl was abducted near her school in Mandsaur, taken to a secluded area and gangraped.

Kancheepuram district police on Friday arrested four persons in connection with the gangrape of a 20-year-old woman near Cheyyar in Kancheepuram district, 110 km from the city.

Bhopal: A fast-track court in Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh, on Tuesday, sentenced two youths to death for raping a minor girl a couple of months ago. The fast track court judge pronounced death sentence for the accused — Irfan, 20, and Asif, 24, — after convicting them for the rape and attempt to murder of a seven-year-old girl on June 26, local public prosecutor B.S. Thakur said.

The girl was abducted near her school in Mandsaur, taken to a secluded area and gangraped. The duo then slit her throat and fled the spot thinking that she was dead. The girl who suffered injuries in her neck, face, head and private parts is undergoing treatment in a government hospital in Indore.
