Hyderabad: Depressed that his wife had passed away merely seven months after their marriage, a man from the city stabbed his wife's relative accusing him of getting him married to a woman who was ailing. The accused was arrested on charges of attempt to murder and produced before a court for judicial remand on Wednesday. The incident took place at Suleman Nagar in Chintalmet of Rajendranagar police station limits of Cyberabad police commissionerate.
Mohammed Shoukat, a car driver in his early 30s, got married to a woman Rubina (name changed) about seven months ago. The woman was reportedly suffering from Asthma and was under medication. About 20 days ago, Rubina passed away due to breathing complications. Rajendranagar police said that on Tuesday, Shoukat, a resident of Suleman Nagar, saw Shaik Nayum (35) returning home from work. He picked up an argument with Nayum, alleging that he got a wrong match for him and that his marital life had ended with Rubina's death.
An enraged Shoukat went to his house and picked up a pair of scissors. He then went to Nayum's house and stabbed him in the chest and then fled from the scene of crime. Nayum's neighbours informed the police.
