Hyderabad: City police deport Nigerian fraudster
He came to India in the year 2014 on a medical attendant visa and has been staying in India illegally after the expiry of the visa.
Hyderabad: A Nigerian who was staying illegally in India after his visa got expired and also assisted cyber fraudsters was deported back to Nigeria by the Cyberabad police.
The Cyber Crime Police of Cyberabad Commissionerate investigated a Nigerian national Mr Valentine Kevin, 40, who could not satisfactorily answer questions explaining his presence in Hyderabad or his purpose of visit to India.
He came to India in the year 2014 on a medical attendant visa and has been staying in India illegally after the expiry of the visa. When questioned about his involvement in cyber crimes, the investigation revealed that he was not involved in any present offences. However, he was assisting some cyber fraudsters.
He was deported to his country on Friday by obtaining orders from the office of the Bureau of Immigration, Hyderabad to prevent him from further commission of cyber crime offences in India.
Some Nigerian nationals who are coming to India on a tourist visa, medical attendant visa, business visa and education visa are staying beyond the permitted time period and becoming illegal. Out of such Nigerian nationals, many of them are turning into cyber fraudsters and participating in cyber crimes.
Most such Nigerians fraud with matrimony, job, visa, OLX, and gift transactions throughout India, in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, along with Nigerian counterparts and with the assistance of local fraudsters.
