Hyderabad: The Hayathnagar police arrested two persons who were responsible for the blast at a chemical factory on Wednesday that killed a worker. The arrested persons are Sri Sai Priya Chemicals owner D. Laxman and plant in-charge K. Chandrashekar.

Inspector J. Narender Goud said that Laxman had employed unskilled labourers to work in the factory in Bacharam village, instead of skilled workers as they will have to pay more. The unit also did not have a auto temperature controlling unit to release the vacuum from the reactor when temperature increases.

On Wednesday morning smoke rose from one of the reactors and workers ran out and stood beside a wall. Suddenly one reactor went off and hit the wall behind which the workers were taking cover. One rod from the reactor hit Shiva Chand Bhim on the head. Three others were also injured in the accident.
