Gambling racket busted in Nellore

TIRUPATI: A gambling racket was busted in Nellore city on Saturday. The Central Crime Station police arrested nine people organising the gambling in the town. G. Bharat Kumar, the owner of a hotel was identified as the organiser. After receiving information about the lottery, the police raided Tikkana Bhavan and Brundavanam areas near Atmakur Bus stand on Saturday and caught 8 persons red handed while organising the lottery.
Speaking to reporters CCS DSP, Balasundar Rao said that the betting and gambling activities will be dealt firmly. The accused were booked under Gambling Act and sent to judicial remand. The police seized Rs 23960 and nine mobile phones from the accused.
