Telangana: Student attempts suicide after college denies certificates

The college staff had refused to give him the certificates citing delay in college procedures.

Hyderabad: Nagaraju, an MBA student studying in Mallareddy College in Maisammaguda village under Petbasheerabad police station limits, attempted suicide by setting himself ablaze in the college campus on Saturday after the  authorities denied to return his original certificates. The college staff had refused to give him the certificates citing delay in college procedures.

Depressed over this, Nagaraju took out petrol from his bike and poured  it over himself and set ablaze. He was rushed to a nearby hospital.

Doctors said that he had minor burns and is out of danger now. Police intervened in the issue and ensured that the college handed over Nagaraju his certificates. Mr S. Ravi Chandra, Inspector Petbasheerabad Police station said that Nagaraju got discharged from the hospital after treatment.

“ He came to collect his original certificates. We discussed with the management and ensured that he got his certificates. He is out of danger.” said the Inspector. A GD entry of the incident is made at the Police station.
