Hyderabad: Depressed at being harassed by a lecturer at Narayana Junior College, Kukatpally, where she was a second-year Intermediate student, Navyasri Goud attempted suicide on Tuesday by slitting her wrist in the hostel.

“I thought of sharing this with my parents, but even if they question the management there will not be any action on her and I have to face her again every day and she will take revenge on me. In order to avoid all this trouble, I decided to end myself and slit my wrist with a blade,” Ms Goud said.

Fortunately, her friends found her bleeding and informed the college staff, who alerted her parents.

A case under the Juvenile Justice Act has been registered against the lecturer. Based on the evidence, the investigation will proceed,” said N. Bhujanga Rao, ACP Kukatpally. Ms Goud has been discharged from hospital after treatment.
