Tirupati: A man was killed and five others suffered injuries after they were attacked by a group of people in a property dispute at Musunuru village of Kavali mandal in Nellore district on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Surisetty Suresh, a resident of Autonagar in Musunuru, who was in his late 30s. The injured – M. Sudhakar, N. Sreenu, Sushma and Prasanth – have been shifted to the Area Hospital in Kavali town.

According to Kavali deputy superintendent of police M. Venkataramana, Suresh had recently purchased a house from one Pulla Subba Reddy in Kavali mandal. However, Subba Reddy did not hand over possession of the house to Suresh even after the latter paid the full amount. Instead, Subba Reddy gave the house to another family.

On Friday morning, Subba Reddy, along with Chalamcherla Vijay and others, visited Suresh's house and entered into a heated argument with him and his relatives. The accused attacked Suresh and his relatives with knives.

The DSP said Suresh suffered severe injuries. He was rushed to the hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

Police have registered a case and formed teams to arrest the accused involved in the attack.
