Hyderabad: Teacher held for thrashing student

The man, identified as Venkatesh, was teaching mathematics at Vigneshwara High School in Narsimhanagar colony, a police official said.

A complaint was registered by the family members of the boy, Abdul Aziz Khan, who was mercilessly beaten up by the teacher in the school.

Hyderabad: A school teacher was arrested by the Kulsumpura police for beating up a Class IX student with a stick in the class on Tuesday. 

The man, identified as Venkatesh, was teaching mathematics at Vigneshwara High School in Narsimhanagar colony, a  police official said. 

“A complaint was registered by the family members of the boy, Abdul Aziz Khan, who was mercilessly beaten up by the teacher in the school, following which a case was booked against him under section 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) of IPC, which is a non bailable offence, and was placed under arrest,” said the police inspector of Kulsumpura, P. Shankar on Tuesday.  

The parents of the boy demanded action against the school management and the teaching faculty and also requested for cancellation of school license.

The police have registered a case and further investigation is on.
