Tirupur: Youth held for robbing trader

Tirupur: People caught a 19-year-old youth for robbing a trader in Tirupur on Wednesday night. 

According to police, Jayaram, 43, a resident of Parapalayam in Tirupur runs a furniture sales business and returned to Tirupur from Pollachi on Wednesday night by bus.

As he alighted at the old bus stand, a youth threatened him and robbed him of Rs 5,000 in cash and gold jewellery. 

When Jayaram cried for help, people chased and caught the robber red-handed. 
Tirupur South police registered a case and sent him for remand.
