Hyderabad: Man gets lifer for killing sister-in-law

Sattaiah's sister-in-law Renuka had filed a complaint against him for assault and that made him kill her.

Hyderabad: A 35-year-old trolley autorickshaw driver was given life imprisonment for killing his brother’s wife by hitting her with his vehicle. Though initially it was suspected to be a hit and run case investigation proved that the victim A.

Renuka, 32, was killed by the culprit A. Sattaiah due to a family dispute. Renuka had earlier filed a case against Sattaiah for assault and that made Sattaiah commit the murder. The murder took place on January 23 at Subhashnagar. The MSJ court at Nampally on Tuesday awarded life imprisonment to Sattaiah and also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on him after the trial.

“The victim was walking towards her husband’s house. Sattaiah came with his autorickshaw trolley and hit the victim. When she fell down on the road his vehicle ran over her. Though the injured victim was taken to hospital she died later,” said a police official from SR Nagar.

Police arrested Sattaiah who confessed his crime during investigation. Police filed a charge sheet against him and proved his motive and role in the murder. “Renuka  had filed a police complaint against him at the SR Nagar police station after he fought with her. It angered him and made him murder her,” the official said.
