Mother, son electrocuted in Anantapur district

Anantapur: A mother and her son got electrocuted at their agriculture field in Mallikethi village of D. Hirehal mandal on Monday night. The incident came to light on Wednesday.

The deceased have been identified as B. Gangamma, 70, and her son B. Basava Raju, 40.

Both mother and son had been residing in their field on outskirts of the village. It is said when the mother got electrocuted, the son tried to save her but both died due to electrocution.

Subsequently, farmers living nearby found the mother and son dead and informed police.
