KURNOOL: Three persons were arrested in Dhone town on Saturday for kidnapping a five-year-old girl over a property dispute between a father-son duo, the police said.

The accused, Kiran, Prasad and Surya Teja, kidnapped the girl on the order of her grandfather, who got the trio to get an undertaking from the girl’s father, Vinod Kumar, that he would not stake claim to any of his father’s assets.

The same was done by holding the girl, Deekshita, at gunpoint, the police said.

According to the police, Vinod Kumar had married one Sravanthi a few years ago, against her family’s wishes, following which Kumar’s father helped them monetarily to meet their basic needs.

A few years down the line, Kumar, upon becoming a father, returned to his home town and asked his father for a share in his property, to which he did not agree.

To ensure there was no escalation in his claim, the grandfather got the girl kidnapped and took an undertaking. He is currently absconding.

Immediately after the incident, Kumar and Sravanthi filed a police complaint, who arrested the trio in a case under sections 364, 389 and 506 of the IPC, and lodged them in judicial custody.
