Hyderabad: Actress and politician Jeevitha Rajashekar’s manager Srinivas Rao was arrested by the police from Jubilee Hills on Thursday with demonetised currency worth Rs 7 crore. The police raided the floor above the actress’ place, which was kept as a workplace after receiving a tip-off. The actress was on way for work and at around 11-11.30 am, she started receiving calls regarding the raid stating that someone working for her was caught and her brother is also involved. However, she cleared the air about her brother saying that he was hospitalised and the arrested person was not her brother. “After receiving the calls, I explained to them about the mix-up. We are staying at the place for filming our movie and as of now 98 per cent of the movie is finished,” said Jeevitha.

Talking about the rumour about her brother, she said, “Srinivas Rao (the accused) is one of the three managers who were working with me for the movie. I am not concerned with what he does with his friends. Although the police had told me that Srinivas confessed to them that he was working only for me and that he was not connected in any other way, by the time I got back home, the media was awaiting me to ask me about my brother. They added a new version saying that the arrested person is my brother and his name is Murali Srinivas. I told them that my brother had a kidney transplant 20 days back. He was discharged 10 days back and is at Apollo Hospital for check-ups.” Police is investigating the case and has booked Srinivas Rao, a film producer after recovering demonetised currency worth Rs 7 crore from him.
