Nizamabad: Nizamabad police on Sunday arrested three persons in connection with a double murder case. The arrested persons were identified as Mogulla Sai Prasad Yadav alias Talwar Sai, 22, his brother Mogulla Mahender Yadav, 19, and Dhatrika Sanjay, 19, all residents of Hamalwadi in the district.

Police also recovered a dagger and cricket bats used to murder the two brothers — Badri Pawan Kalyan Yadav and Badri Narsing Yadav — on Saturday.

Nizamabad assistant commissioner M. Sudarshan said that some grudges among the youths led to the double murder.

Mr Sudarshan said Talwar had grudges with Pawan and Narsing and plotted to kill one of them. As part of the plan, Talwar picked up a fight with a friend of the two brothers while playing cricket at old railway court ground on Saturday evening.

Seeing the assault, Pavan and Narsing rushed to the spot. Talwar then got into an argument with the duo and stabbed them with the dagger while his associates beat them with cricket bats, the ACP said. The accused also stabbed another person named Prem, but he escaped with minor injuries.
