Tirupati: A middle-aged man has been given the death sentence along with life imprisonment on Tuesday by a Chittoor court, for the murder of his live-in partner and her mother and the raping the minor daughters of the victim.
According to the charge-sheet filed by the Madanapalle police, Moulali entered into a live-in arrangement with Sarala, a resident of Govindavari Palle in Tamballapalle mandal of Annamayya district. Sarala was a widow and lived with her 65-year-old mother and three young daughters. Moulali moved them to his farmhouse near Yetigadda Thanda and continued the relationship.
In due course, Moulali became suspicious that Sarala was involved in a physical relationship with another person. “On September 29, 2020, Moulali murdered Sarala and disposed of her body near the Pedderu project,” the chargesheet stated.
A month later, when Sarala's mother began questioning Moulali about her missing daughter, he strangled the elderly woman to death and dumped her body in a local water tank.
“Subsequently, Moulali relocated Sarala's three young daughters to a remote location in Karnataka. There, he subjected them to sexual abuse. Following a ‘missing person’ report filed by an elderly woman in Govindavari Palle, the Tamballapalle police initiated an investigation and arrested Moulali in February 2021.
The police, led by then DSP, RM Chari, retrieved the bodies of Sarala and her mother from the local water bodies and placed her minor daughters in a local shelter home.
After the charges against Moulali were proven, the additional district judge court in Chittoor handed down a death sentence to him in the murder case, under Section 302 of IPC. He gets seven years’ rigorous imprisonment and life sentence under SC/ST atrocity act and in relation to other offences.
