Srikakulam Man Gets 20-year Jail for Raping Minor Girl

Visakhapatnam: The first sessions court judge Srikakulam dealing with Pocso cases on Tuesday convicted a man to 20 years jail term for raping a minor girl in Srikakulam.

According to the prosecution, the minor girl of Gunduvalasa village of Jalumuru mandal went out to attend a nature call at about 9 pm on June 5, 2021 when her neighbour Kurmana Simhachalam forcibly took her to an under-construction building and raped her.

Later her parents noticed her bleeding and lodged a complaint with the police.

The police took her to the general hospital in Srikakulam for medical tests and filed a case. After sending the accused to remand, the police filed a charge sheet in the court. Convinced with the arguments, the judge pronounced the judgment convicting the accused.
