Five arrested for ganja trade in ASR district
Visakhapatnam: The ASR district police seized 350 kilograms of dry cannabis and arrested five people who were transporting it in a vehicle from Odisha to Maharashtra via Andhra Pradesh near TRC camp junction under Sileru police station limits in the district.
The police said that a gang of seven people, including K. Sikandar alias Suraj from Maharashtra and K. Dora Babu, K. Jagga Rao, S. Lykon, Killo Raju, V. Trinadh, and A. Venkatesh from ASR district, had formed a gang to procure and supply ganja to various people.
Dora Babu and his gang packed the ganja in 12 bags and neatly arranged them in an SUV to transport it to Bhadrachalam in Telangana, from where Sikandar would transport it to Maharashtra. When the SUV was heading towards Bhadrachalam from Odisha, the police intercepted the vehicle, seized the weed, and arrested five members of the gang.
