Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police arrested four persons and seized Rs 1 crore unaccounted cash that the accused were carrying in a vehicle on the Kokapet-Narsingi road during a routine check on Saturday. Police said the money was meant for bypoll-bound Munugode.

The arrested persons were identified as accountants G. Srikanth Sagar and Gundala Vijay Kumar at Laxmi Venkata Farms and drivers Devulapalli Nagesh and Dasari Luthar. The absconding accused were identified as Kandikotu Deval Raju, V. Harshavarardhan Reddy, managing director of Mayuri Broiler Breeding Farms, Sunil Reddy, Komatireddy Sumanth Reddy and Komatireddy Surya Pavan Reddy.

Police said Deval Raju was a sales executive for 20 years with Harshavardhan Reddy. Raju claimed that on the directions of Harshavardhan Reddy, he and the others collected the money from Sunil Reddy. They divdied the money to three parts — two consignments of Rs 35 lakh each and Rs 30 lakh — to try and prevent discovery during checking.

Police said the money was being transported to be handed over to Komatireddy Sumanth Reddy and Komatireddy Surya Pavan Reddy.
