Two, including SFI leader, nabbed in Ramith murder

Kozhikode:  The police on Tuesday arrested two more persons in connection with the murder of RSS worker Ramith Kollanandi  at Pinarayi on October 12. They are   prime accused  P.M. Akhil, 25,  and key accomplice  Prayag, 21.   Akhil is member of SFI state committee and CPM Pinarayi area committee and  son of Aravindan, ‘Saradas,’ Pinarayi.   Prayag  is  son of Chandran, Vadakkepurayil, Kumbala Bazaar. Seven persons were arrested so far  in connection with the case in which  Ramith, a lorry driver, was hacked to death  in retaliation for  the murder of CPM Kuthuparamba local committee member Kuzhichalil Mohanan on October 10.

The accused will be produced before the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, Thalassery, on Wednesday. Thalassery DySP Prince Abraham said that Akhil had plotted the murder,  arranged the killers and brought them to the spot. Prayag  rode one of the three bikes used by the killers to the spot, said the police.  With  the arrest of Akhil, the conspiracy behind the murder of Ramith has been uncovered,  police said.
