Hyderabad: 4 held for selling gutka
Six pan shop owners were also held for selling gutka.
Hyderabad: North Zone Task Force on Wednesday caught four persons on charges of illegal storage and sale of gutka and seized gutka products worth '6 lakh from their possession. Another person carrying 21 kg of banned tobacco products was also arrested.
“We conducted searches at a gutka sales godown at Jaya Nagar Colony of Bowenpally and apprehended four men for the marketing of illegal tobacco products,” said police.
According to the police, the accused were identified as Jella Sudarshan (distrib-utor), Pilli Shekar (driver), Prakash Kum-avath and Chandulal Kumavath (marketing agents), the police said.
The police said that Jella Sudarshan, the owner of the godown, was purchasing the adulaterated gutka products from distributors in Bidar, Karnataka.
Six pan shop owners were also held for selling gutka. While two accused in the case, co-owners of Sri laxmi traders, are absconding.
