Drug Control Administration busted unlicensed drug manufacture racket in Khammam
The raid was held on credible information by a special team of officers at Plot No. 15, TSIIC Industrial Park, Annarugudem village
Hyderabad: Officials of the Drug Control Administration, Telangana, busted unlicensed drug manufacturing facility belonging to spurious drug offender Kadari Sateesh Reddy at Annarugudem village, Tallada Mandal, Khammam district on Saturday.
The raid was held on credible information by a special team of officers at Plot No. 15, TSIIC Industrial Park, Annarugudem village. Active pharmaceutical ingredients Valsartan and Clopidogrel of around 935 kgs were found on the premises. The facility is being operated by Upender Reddy, a close relative of Kadari Sateesh Reddy, whose unlicensed premises at Macha Bollaram, Hyderabad was raided by DCA officers on December 4, and spurious anticancer drugs and other drugs worth Rs 4.35 crores were seized.
Kadari Sateesh Reddy, the prime accused, who had absconded on December 4, after seizure of spurious drugs is also the key conspirator in the drug haul held in Khammam district. Those who took part in the raid include C. Rajavardhana Chary, Deputy Director, DCA, G. Prasad, Assistant Director, DCA, K. Devender Reddy, Drugs Inspector, DCA, Ch. Anil Kumar, Drugs Inspector, DCA and Ch. Sampath Kumar, Drugs Inspector, DCA. The local police assisted them during the raid.
Kanugula Raju production manager, Vasanthapuram Sambashivarao store in-charge and Sappidi Sudhakar Reddy, office in-charge of the firm were present during the raid.
The drug samples were sent for analysis. Action will be taken after as per law against all the offenders, V.B. Kamalasan Reddy, IPS, director general, DCA informed in a release.
