Hyderabad: Ill, ignored, patient ends life at Gandhi Hospital
The victim deceased was identified as Giri, a native of Nizamabad.
Hyderabad: A 45-year-old patient who was undergoing treatment committed suicide by jumping off the roof of the Gandhi Hospital on Sunday. Police said he was depressed.The victim deceased was identified as Giri, a native of Nizamabad.
“He was staying in the hospital premises for two months and used to eat the GHMC’s Rs 5 meals sold outside the hospital” said Chilkalguda sub-inspector G. Bhasker Reddy.
A hospital patient, Laxman, who is also from Nizamabad, had recognised Giri. He told the police that Giri had taken treatment for urinary tract problems two years back.
“Giri was suffering from depression because he had no wife and his son refused to take care of him,” said the sub-inspector. Giri was admitted in the hospital because of bladder block and urinary problem two months ago.
