Karnataka: Three killed in separate accidents

Police said the lorry driver had parked the vehicle without switching on the lights and thus Rustum failed to notice it.

Bengaluru: Three people, including two women, died in separate road accidents in Yeshwantpur and Kamakshipalya traffic police station limits on Tuesday.

In the first incident reported around 12.30 am in Kamakshipalya police station limits, a biker was killed when he failed to notice a lorry parked by roadside and rammed into it. The incident was reported at Nagarabavi-Maalagaala underpass.

The deceased has been identified as Rustum, 28, a painter by profession. The accident happened when he was on his way home. Police said the lorry driver had parked the vehicle without switching on the lights and thus Rustum failed to notice it. He sustained fatal head injuries and died on the spot. In the second incident reported in Yashwantpur traffic police station limits, Fathima, 64, who was crossing the road in G.M. Palya, was knocked down by a speeding biker.
