Bengaluru: Rowdy hacked to death by rivals
A profusely bleeding Malani was rushed to a private hospital, where he succumbed to injuries.
Bengaluru: A notorious rowdy-sheeter was hacked to death by a rival gang on Friday morning in K.G. Halli police station limits. Old rivalry is said to be the reason behind the attack.
The deceased has been identified as Malani (37), a resident of New Bagalur Layout. The incident happened around 8 am, when he was heading to a tea stall near his house.
Four bike-borne men attacked him with lethal weapons and fled. A profusely bleeding Malani was rushed to a private hospital, where he succumbed to injuries.
The police have detained five people in this regard and are interrogating them. The prime accused in the case, a rowdy sheeter at Indiranagar police station, is yet to be traced. Police have not named the prime accused as the investigation was still on.
Malani was a rowdy sheeter at K.G. Halli police station and was involved in 21 cases of murder, attempt to murder and dacoity. He was also booked under POCSO Act.
Police said that Malani and the prime accused had fought on several occasions. Recently Malani had attacked him in Mahadevapura police station limits and was jailed for the same. Later Malani’s rival too was jailed for some other crime and released last week.
Police have launched a manhunt to nab the prime accused. ACP Ravi Kumar claimed his team has got some clues on the whereabouts of the prime accused and he will be arrested soon.
