Bengaluru: Two bike riders hit median, die on spot

Bengaluru: Three people, including a woman, were killed in two separate road accidents reported in Malleshwaram and Electronic City traffic police station limits.
In the first incident reported in Malleshwaram, Venkat, 21, a resident of Rajajinagar, and Chandan, 21, of Laggere, died on the spot after their bike rammed into a road median. The incident was reported on Mahakavi Kuvempu Road. Both were working in a bike showroom in Hebbal.
Police said that Venkat had purchased a Yamaha bike just on Thursday. After work, he along with Chandan headed towards home. Around 12.30 am, while they were passing near railway bridge at Mahakavi Kuvempu Road, Venkat reportedly lost control of the bike and rammed into a median.
Both sustained fatal head injuries and died on the spot. Malleshwaram traffic police have registered a case. In the incident reported in Electronic City traffic police station limits, Kavyashree, 31, a resident of Hebbagodi New Town and employee of a private bank, died on the spot after a lorry knocked her down.
The incident occurred at Veerasandra Junction on Hosur Road on Friday around 12.30 pm. The lorry that was going towards Hosur hit Kavyashree’s scooter and ran over her killing her on the spot. The lorry driver has been arrested, police added.
