Hyderabad: 50-year-old misbehaves with his niece
Sathish was suffering from cancer, so Reddy would take him to a city hospital for treatment.
Hyderabad: A 50-year-old electrician who had been misbehaving with his niece who he had illegally confined at his rented room in Chaitanyapuri, was arrested on Sunday.
The accused was identified as Konda Shiva Reddy, a resident of Balajipuri Colony, Dilsukhnagar. He was living in a rented room in the colony with his teenage son Sathish.
Sathish was suffering from cancer, so Reddy would take him to a city hospital for treatment.
About a week ago, Reddy’s younger sister sent her daughter, 19, to spend some time with him and Sathish. Reddy would lock her in his room every time he and Sathish went to the hospital. During the night, he would touch her inappropriately.
On Saturday, after Reddy and his son left for the hospital, the girl got in touch with the police. The police rescued her and took her to the police station, where she lodged a complaint. “The girl had been living with her maternal uncle Shiva Reddy for a week during which he reportedly misbehaved with her,” Chaitanyapuri assistant sub-inspector J. Tirupathi said.
Reddy was arrested under IPC Sections 354 and 342 on Sunday.
