Real estate cheat arrested in Gorakhpur
Police said that he procured land documents from buyers after contacting them via classifieds ads and poses as an owner to cheat people
Hyderabad: A 38-year-old Khammam native involved in about 15 real estate cheating cases was caught by the cybercrime police of Rachakonda in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur. Police said that he procured land documents from buyers after contacting them via classifieds ads and poses as an owner to cheat people.
“The accused Salavadi Nagaraju has a PG degree in science and visits casinos in Goa, Gangtok and Bhairahawa, Nepal," said Rachakonda police commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat.
The arrest was made following a complaint from one Kota Narasimha Reddy on April 23. The complainant stated that on April 9 he received a message on WhatsApp about sale of an open plot at Masjidpur, Abdullapurmet. "When Reddy called the number, the person introduced himself as Vinay from Suryapet and made a deal of Rs 11,000 per square yard for selling a purported 200-square yard plot. After several telephonic conversations, the accused made Reddy transfer Rs 41,200 as advance payments and cheated him," said police.
Police teams, based on technical data about his whereabouts, found him in Gorakhpur of Uttar Pradesh and arrested him.
