Hyderabad: Preventive Detention Act against two for child trafficking
Their criminal activities have shocked the people in Yadagirigutta.
Hyderabad: In order to curb recidivism by the traffickers of minor children, who were also pushing the children into flesh trade, the Rachakonda police invoked the Preventive Detention (PD) Act against two women from Yadagirigutta.
The police rescued four minor girls aged below eight years, who were being trafficked by the accused Kamsani Kalyani, 25,and Kamsani Anitha, 30, residents of Ganesh Nagar in Yadagirigutta on July 30.
The women were arrested and remanded to judicial custody under sections 366 (A), 370 (1) (v), 376 r/w 114, 372, 373, 120(B) IPC and 17 of POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act and sections 3,4, 5,6,7 of ITP (Prevention of Immoral Trafficking) Act.
Rachakonda police commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat on Thursday said that Kalyani and Anitha were running a brothel by taking houses on rent at Yadagirigutta. They were earlier arrested on similar charges.
“Despite being arrested earlier they continued purchasing kidnapped minor girls and gave injections to the girls for early puberty and then to force them into prostitution.
“Their criminal activities have shocked the people in Yadagirigutta. To curb their activities , PD Act has been invoked,” according to commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat
