Drunk attempts to kill wife, five children
Ananthapur: A drunk person tried to kill his wife and five children at Pyalakurthi village in Kodumur mandal of Kurnool district on Tuesday. According to police, M. Krishna came home drunk and forced his wife and children to sit in the auto. He then started driving them into a forest. Sensing danger, the wife and kids attempted to jump out of the auto.
While the wife and three children succeeded, two remained in the auto. Drunk Krishna took the auto near a canal, alighted and physically pushed the vehicle into the canal, assuming his wife and children were in the vehicle. He then walked away from the spot.
The auto, however, got stuck on the slope of the canal because of some stones. The two kids remaining in the vehicle came out, climbed on to the road and finding no one started crying. Farmers working in the area heard their cries and took them to the Kodumur police station. Police conducted inquiries and traced the father and mother. They summoned both to the police station, counselled them and handed over the two kids to them after warning Krishna.
