Hyderabad: A realtor who sexually harassed a woman and blackmailed her to generate funds to construct a house in Bengaluru was arrested by the Saroornagar police on Wednesday. The accused reportedly threatened to morph her pictures and share them with her family members if she complained about the blackmail.
The victim, a 45-year-old woman, living in Saroornagar, complained to the police that her relative P. Chandra Shekar Reddy, 40, a realtor, does construction work at several places. The duo made an agreement to construct a house for her in Bengaluru, which he did not complete in the stipulated time.
Reddy, a frequent visitor to the woman's house, began misbehaving with and harassing her. She complained that the harassment was going on for six months. When she restrained him, he allegedly threatened to publicise morphed pictures of her and share them with her family members to defame her.
Police said following the complaint, the accused was booked in a case under sections 420, 354 D and 506 of the IPC. He was arrested from Uppal and produced before a court at LB Nagar and remanded to judicial custody.
