Telangana: Mission Bhagiratha labourer drowns
Work at the site is being carried out by C&G Construction Company.
Hyderabad: Bifol Mandal, a 25-year-old migrant labourer engaged in Mission Bhagiratha works, drowned after accidentally falling into a clariflocculator pit in Nalgonda district. His body was recovered from the 18-foot-deep pit on Thursday. According to the police, Bifol hailed from Uttar Pradesh. He had been hired by SS Constructions, a manpower-supplying company, to work at the Mission Bhagiratha site in Rangareddygudem village, Gudipally. Work at the site is being carried out by C&G Construction Company.
On Wednesday, Bifol and four of his co-workers decided to have a bath after work. Instead of going to the water sump, they went to the 60-yard-wide pit. While bathing, Bifol, who did not know how to swim, accidentally slipped and fell in the pit. Staff at the site tried to look for him in the pit, but they were unable to do so because of the darkness and the depth of the pit. “We roped in expert swimmers from Nagarjunasagar and recovered the body on Thursday. Prima facie, a case of suspicious death has been registered,” said G. Srinivas, the SI of Gudipally police station.
