Bengaluru: CCB sleuths have raided watch shops, arrested three people and seized pirated watches worth Rs 1.08 crore.
The police seized 541 watches. Branded watches like Rado, Hublot, Tissor, Tag Heur, Calvin Klein, Longines, Omega, Christian Dior and Fossil were seized.
The CCB sleuths raided Shafiullah Watch Shop, AJ Times and A.M. Times Center in Chickpet and arrested M. B. Shafiulla, Abrar and Kalim. They had bought watches from Mumbai and Chennai at lower price and were selling them here for a profit.
Man dies in hit-and-run
In a hit-and-run case, a 27-year-old youth was killed on the spot when a speeding lorry rammed his motorbike from behind around 9.30 am on Thursday.
The deceased, Manjunath, was an employee of a private firm and was heading to his office at Hoodi when the accident occurred in front of M.V.J. College in Channasandra.
The accused driver is still at large. Whitefield traffic police has registered a complaint and have launched a hunt for the driver.
Techie dies in accident
A 26-year-old techie succumbed to injuries after he fell from his speeding bike in HSR Layout early Friday. The deceased has been identified as Abhijith Singh, hailing from Delhi and working for a city-based software company. According to the police, the incident happened around 1 am when Abhijith was returning home after his work.
He lost control of his speeding bike near Agara-Iblur Road near Military Camp Gate.
Abhijit sustained serious injuries was rushed to a private hospital, where he was declared brought dead. The body has been kept at St John's Hospital.
