Two Injured in Dispute Within Challa Family in Owk
Kurnool: A family dispute erupted late on Saturday resulted in injuries to Challa Srilakshmi, daughter-in-law of late Challa Ramakrishna Reddy, and Sridevi, wife of Ramakrishna Reddy.
Challa Srilakshmi received medical treatment at Banaganapalle Government Hospital. Sridevi has been shifted to Hyderabad after initial treatment at a local hospital in Nandyal.
The dispute is over Challa Bhavan in Owk. Sai Prithvi and Vrinda Reddy, daughters of late Challa Ramakrishna Reddy, had come for the Vaikuntha Ekadashi holidays.
The dispute arose over parking. But it soon escalated into a larger family feud. Sources said the conflict revolves around political inheritance and property distribution.
Late Challa Ramakrishna Reddy, who was an MLC, passed away due to illness.
Subsequently, Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy offered the MLC position to Challa Ramakrishna Reddy's youngest son, Challa Bhagirath Reddy, who also passed away.
This chain of events has added to the ongoing conflicts within the Challa family, resulting in numerous complaints to police. Despite clashes, court cases, and police interventions, family members from both sides are continuing to reside in the same house.
Challa Srilakshmi currently holds the position of ZPTC member. She getting into politics appears to have led to differences within the family.
