Kozhikode: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has stated that the abduction and sexual assault on the actor was planned by the key accused in the case, Pulsar Suni. Speaking at the 130th anniversary of 'Deepika' daily here on Friday, the CM said that the crime occurred as per the plot evolved in the mind of the key accused. "Probe is heading in the right direction. If any other hints arises out of the interrogation, that should be inquired," he told.

Earlier, speaking in Thalasserry, Chief Minister has decried the bid  to crucify innocent persons  in the case relating to the assault on the film actor and said that  police cannot be used to create or nab fictitious culprits. "There was an attempt to create fictitious culprits in the sexual assault case.  The police  neither quizzed nor went to the house of a popular actor.  The actor himself explained his stand.  All these  are unfortunate,” he said. The  police can  move ahead only according to the evidence  they collect.

“Things that happened in  underworld earlier are happening in the cinema field now. All film people do not have underworld connections, but a few have. Filmdom should be careful against criminal elements creeping into their space,” he said. He  would call on the suicide victim student Jishnu Pranoy's family soon. “Jishnu's mother wanted me to visit them which I too wanted. But  it didn't happen due to my hectic schedule,” he said.   He had no issue over  the resentment expressed by Jishnu's mother for his failure to visit  them, he added.
