Cyberabad : Manhunt on for snatcher duo

Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police have launched a massive hunt for the chain-snatcher duo who looted women in KPHB and Miyapur, on Friday.

Teams from Cyberabad along with the City Task Force have been deployed to nab the snatchers. Their images have been circulated to the bordering districts of the city and to Karnataka as well, said investigating officials. 

The snatchers who struck on Friday morning, looted two gold chains weighing 6.5 tolas from two women and fled towards Madhapur. Cops had already announced a '20,000 cash reward for any clues about the chain snatchers.

Police said that the chain snatchings are being reported in Cyberabad after a gap. After analysing the pattern of the incidents, the snatchers seem to be veteran  offenders. 

who are well-versed with the movements of the residents in the vicinity and also the topography, which they used to escape and speed towards the Madhapur area.

Analysis of cctv cameras revealed that the snatchers  travelled through JNTU junction towards Madhapur and then entered the Jubilee Hills area, after which their movements were not  traced.

 Police suspect they did not move out of the city and could be taking shelter anywhere in the city itself. “With their movements spotted in the Hyderabad Commissionerate area, Special teams of Cyberabad including the SOT, along with the Hyderabad Taskforce are on a hunt to nab them. We are assessing the CCTV cameras in those areas for more clues on their movements.” they said.

They further added that the black Pulsar bike they used had no number plate, but the rear number plate had a mark which indicated the For Registration (F/R) sticker removed from it.
