Four of a family hacked to death near Haduvalli
Vidya’s husband died a few months ago. She and her father and brother are said to have had a dispute with Bhat on property sharing
Mangaluru: Four members of a family were found brutally murdered in a shocking incident that occurred near Haduvalli in Bhatkal Taluk on Friday evening.
The victims have been identified as Shambhu Bhat (65), his wife Madevi Bhat (40), son Rajeev Bhat (34), and daughter-in-law Kusuma Bhat (30).
According to reports, the four victims were hacked to death with a sharp weapon, and while three of the bodies were found close together, Shambhu Bhat's body was found at a distance.
Based on the complaint filed by Shambhu Bhat's daughter an FIR has been registered at Bhatkal Rural Police Station.
Sources revealed that police officials are currently working to determine the motive behind the brutal murders, as well as identifying those responsible for the heinous act.
Initial reports suggest that the incident may be related to a longstanding property dispute.
According to the complaint, Shambhu Bhat’s daughter in law Vidya and her family had enmity with Shambhu Bhat’s family over proper rights.

On February 24, Vidya's family allegedly had an argument and tussle with Shambhu Bhat and his son after which the incident took place.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Uttara Kannada Superintendent of Police Vishnuvardhana N confirmed that three teams have been formed to investigate the case.
