Bengaluru: The city police have slapped a case against the women who led the four-day protest by the Anganawadi workers, for violation of permit conditions to hold protest.

An FIR is registered by the Upparpet police on Monday against CITU leaders Varalakshmi S, Shantha N. Ghanti, Sunanda H. S, Kamala G, Yamuna Gantvala and others.

In the FIR the police stated that the accused had instigated more than 6,000 protestors to stay put at the protest venue by sleeping on the roads, thereby causing inconvenience to general public.

However, DCP (West) M.N. Anucheth clarified that it was a normal course of action when protestors do not follow the permit conditions.
