Hyderabad: The third wife of the doctor who was murdered three days back by the brother of his second wife, committed suicide on Thursday. Arshiya Begum was found hanging at her home in Misrigunj on Thursday.

The 30-year-old woman had got married to Dr Syed Merajuddin on Sunday. He was found murdered by Aziz at his clinic in Vijayanagar colony on Tuesday. The doctor was allegedly murdered by the brother of his second wife, Naseem Sultana.

Kalapathar police recovered a suicide note from the third wife’s house which said, “I, Arshiya, am going to end my life. I cannot live without Meraj. Only Allah is responsible for my bad luck. Please bury me beside Meraj’s grave. I wish to stay near Meraj, consider this as my last wish. My apologies to all of you for the inconvenience caused.”

The murdered 45-year-old doctor was a cardiologist. He was stabbed to death inside his clinic in Vijayanagar Colony in Humayun Nagar by his brother-in-law Mohammed Aziz. Dr Merajuddin collapsed on the floor and died after being stabbed by the suspect.  Aziz was angry as the doctor had married another woman without his wife’s consent. The doctor had also been harassing Aziz’s sister since many months.

Arshiya was troubled after her husband’s death and could not stomach the news. “She hanged herself to death at home on Thursday at around 9 a.m. We are waiting for the post-mortem report,” said Kalapathar SI Ravi Raj.
