Bengaluru: A few unidentified robbers struck at a PWD contractor’s house and decamped with cash and gold valuables, while he and his family were away at Tirupati.

The incident took place at PWD contractor Sundaram Naidu’s house in Vidyaranyapura police station limits. The robbers reportedly fled with Rs 9 lakh in cash, 447 gm of gold valuables and four kg of silver ornaments.

According to police, the robbers had cut open the window grill and entered the house. They then broke open the main door of the house and decamped with valuables.

The incident came to light when Sundaram and family returned from Tirupati and found the door and window of the house broken. He immediately lodged a complaint with the Vidyaranyapura police.

The police have registered a case and begun investigation.
