Chennai: 24-yr-old found dead in forest area, case filed
Police said that they retrieved the body from the forest area after the locals spotted the body and alerted the police.
Chennai: A 24-year-old man who was working in a petrol bunk at Kundrathur was found dead in a forest area near in Erumaiyur near Somangalam. The body was recovered and police suspect him to have been murdered.
The deceased has been identified as B.Deepak Raj (24) son of Baskar, an AIADMK secretary and a resident of Palanthandalam in Thiruneermalai worked in a petrol bunk in Kundrathur.
Police said that they retrieved the body from the forest area after the locals spotted the body and alerted the police.
The body was then recovered and sent to the Chromepet government hospital for post mortem.
According to the Police, on Monday morning Deepak Raj had gone to work. When he did not return home till Tuesday morning, his family members searched for him and lodged a missing complaint with the Kundrathur police.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday morning, the locals spotted a body in the forest area and informed the local police.
The police sent the body to a government hospital for post mortem and the missing case has been altered to a murder case. The Somangalam police registered a case and begun enquiries. The police are now hunting for his mobile phone. Further probe is on.
