Hyderabad: Man beaten to death with rods
Police found that Rahmath had been harassing the wife of a local rowdy sheeter and the rowdy bore a grudge against Rahmath.
Hyderabad: A 30-year-old man who was an accused in three cases was brutally murdered in Vikarabad on Monday night. Police said some people attacked him with iron rods, killing him on the spot.
Vikarabad police said Md Rahmath Khan, 30, a resident of Vikarabad town, was a criminal and was involved in an attempt to murder, theft and an attack on a constable a month ago. He was arrested and sent to judicial custody. After coming out on bail, a week ago, he started threatening people and attacked many demanding money for alcohol. But none of them complained against him due to fear.
On Monday night, one Mahender, was waiting for bus at a local bus stop and Rahmath arrived there. Locals who knew about him dispersed, but Mahender stayed on. Angered at this, Rahmath attacked Mahender with a rod and injured him seriously.
“Some people threw stones at Rahmath and he fell down. Immediately around six persons attacked him with rods killing him on the spot,” Vikarabad inspector G. Ravi said.
Rahmath’s elder brother Osman Khan has a rowdy sheet against him at the Vikarabad police station. None of the people saw the attackers as they had fled sensing danger after seeing Rahmath.
A murder case was registered against the unknown killers and a case of attempt to murder and under the SC/ST Atrocities Act was registered against Rahmath for attacking Mahender.
