Bengaluru: A 25-year-old woman was found murdered in a house in Ejipura on Wednesday afternoon. The police have identified the deceased as Honnamma and suspect the crime took place a few days ago as the body had started decomposing.

The incident came to light when the house owner Venkatesh, who lives nearby, sensed a foul smell and alerted the police. The police broke open the door and found the body beneath a cot in the bedroom. “Her throat was slit using a sharp weapon,” police said.

Honnamma had left her house in Tamil Nadu without informing anyone and was staying in this house under the assumed name Priya. She was married and has two children, police said.
