Hyderabad: With Mr V. Ravi Prakash, the former chief executive officer of Associated Broadcasting Pvt Ltd, failing to attend questioning despite several served notices served on him, the Cyberabad police is planning to arrest him, sources said.
Mr Prakash is facing cases of alleged forgery, cheating, criminal conspiracy and violation of the I-T Act. The Cyberabad cyber crime police has registered two cases against Mr Prakash, actor S. Shivaji, and others, on the complaint of Mr P. Kaushik Rao, director of Alanda Media and Entertainments Pvt Ltd.
The cases were registered on April 24 and April 30 at Cyberabad and during the second week at Banjara Hills police station, for allegedly selling the logo of TV9 news channel.
The Cyberabad police had earlier served him notices twice under Sections 41A of Criminal Procedure Code, asking him to appear before the investigating officer and give his statement.
However, Mr Prakash did not attend the questioning and had initially refused to accept the notices.
On May 21, the police had again served notice asking him to appear for questioning on May 23, but he did not do so.
A senior police official from Cyberabad said: “We will now arrest him for not complying with the notices despite asking him to appear for questioning repeatedly. It is suspected that he is taking shelter in Andhra Pradesh, and has not left the country as we have already issued a look-out circular against him.”
