Police Officers Donate ₹25 Lakh as Compensation to Deceased Colleague's Family

Hyderabad: Sub-inspectors of the 2014 batch of the Telangana and AP Police Welfare Society on Sunday handed over a compensation amount of ₹25 lakh to family members of their deceased colleague Prabhakar Reddy, 42. The SI had died of a heart stroke on June 8. His batchmates donated the money from their salary. A statement said ₹20 lakh were deposited in the form of mutual funds for his daughter and the rest was handed over to his wife.

Police Foil Murder Plot, Arrest Four with Weapons in Hyderabad

The Falaknuma police foiled a murder with the arrest of four persons and seized sickles and daggers from them. The accused, identified as Meer Ashfaq Ali, 27, Mohd Subhan Khan and Mohammed Jameel Khan, both 19, and a juvenile were planning to murder Ashfaq Ali’s relative.

Police said Ashfaq Ali was beaten up by his ‘co-brother’ Nazim alias Ishan over a petty issue and wanted revenge. Farhan and Imran Chota were at large, said south zone DCP P. Sai Chaitanya.

Kidnapping Attempt Foiled: Financier Escapes Gang's Clutches in Siddipet District

One Chakradhar Goud from Siddipet district and his associates made a vain bid to kidnap a financier, Avinash Reddy, Ghatkesar police said limits on Sunday.

They forced Avinash Reddy into a car and assaulted him but he managed to escape.

According to his complaint, Avinash Reddy had lent ₹25 lakh to his girlfriend, who broke up with him and started an affair with Chakradhar Goud, a BJP leader. She did not return the money, M. Mahender Reddy, Ghatkesar inspector, said.

Chakradhar Goud called Avinash Reddy for a compromise on Sunday. The financier turned up but did not agree to the terms and wanted his money back with interest. That is when the gang tried to kidnap him.
