Hyderabad: Vikarabad police arrested two persons on Monday for the honour killing which surfaced in Tandur town on Sunday. The suspects are Gowri Ramulu, the father of the girl with whom Yadappa was in love and his driver Srinivas. Four others, Naresh, Charan, Khaja and Mukesh are absconding. Tandur inspector M. Venkataramaiah said that Ramulu was against the marriage as Yadappa was less educated and poor but his daughter was adamant on marrying him. This made Ramulu decide to get rid off Yadappa. He directed his driver Srinivas to hire people for that. Srinivas hired the other four and the deal was settled for Rs 10 lakh, police said.
Srinivas owed Rs 4,000 to Yadappa. Srinivas called Yadappa out of his home on the pretext of repaying him. “They took him in a car to Kurivichedu village and throttled him. They dumped the body in the granite mines on the outskirts,” the inspector said. Police said Yadappa was murdered on the same day he went missing from home. Yadappa was in love with Ramulu’s younger daughter for over a decade. While he stopped education in school the girl continued to study and is doing graduation now. Ramulu did not want his daughter to marry Yadappa who was a farmer.
