Telangana: Cousins end life over affair
Their bodies were found hanging from a tree on the village outskirts.
Hyderabad: A married man and his 21-year-old cousin, who were in a relationship, committed suicide after their families objected to their proposed marriage in Nagarkurnool district. Nagaraju and Smruthi left a suicide note stating that nobody was responsible for their death. Police said Nagaraju hailing from Tudukurthi in Nagar-kurnool mandal ran a medical store. He was married two years ago and had a son.
A few months ago, he fell in love with one Smruthi from the same village. She stopped her education and was at home. They decided to get married and informed their families. They later came to know that they were distant relatives and could not get married. Nagaraju’s family did not accept the proposal. Both tried to convince in their families, but failed. On Wednesday morning, they left their homes and committed suicide. Their bodies were found hanging from a tree on the village outskirts. Police has registered a case of suspicious death.
