Thiruvananthapuram: Two youths booked for assaulting man
The victim had not filed any complaint with the police.
Thiruvananthapuram: The Attingal police on Sunday suo motu registered a case against two youths after a CCTV visual that showed them assaulting a motorist without any provocation on Tuesday became viral. The youths showered around 20 blows and kicks on him after creating nuisance on the main road at SN junction, Mudapuram. They were identified as Ananthu and Sreekuttan of Vakkathuvila.
The victim had not filed any complaint with the police. The youth had allegedly decided to beat up someone after getting drunk. They started circling their bike non-stop at the junction awaiting someone to question them. The victim, Sudheer, who was on a bike was about to be hit by their vehicle. He asked them to stop creating nuisance resulting in the incident.
The accused pulled him aside and started beating him on his head. He was dragged to the ground and kicked on the abdomen and back. Finally, the onlookers came and pushed away the accused. The police under Attingal circle inspector M. Anil Kumar registered a case after the visuals caught in the CCTV of a fancy shop became viral. The shop owner claimed that he had received threats following the arrest of the accused.
